Small Impressions – Call for Books
New England Book Artists are pleased to announce this call for book arts.

Small Impressions: An Exhibition of Miniature Printed Matter
October 1 – October 30, 2025
Museum of Printing, Haverhill, Mass.
Small Impressions invites book artists to explore the possibilities of the miniature: works that fit in the palm of a hand and carry the richness and rigor of the book arts tradition.
We’re seeking handmade artist books that incorporate printed matter—letterpress, ecoprinting, risograph, cyanotype, digital, hybrid, or other techniques — combined with thoughtful structure and craft. Whether it’s a tiny book, a folded form, a printed object, or an editioned work scaled down with precision, the focus is on the interplay between print and form at a reduced size. Scale can be a powerful constraint and an invitation to play, so we welcome experimentation! We plan to showcase a wide variety of innovative miniatures.
The exhibition will be hosted by the Museum of Printing this Fall 2025, a space dedicated to preserving the history and artistry of the printed word. It’s an ideal setting to showcase the tactile and conceptual power of miniature book art. The Museum of Printing also has a library which holds a selection of miniature books, in addition to its many presses, type, and other specialized historic printing equipment.
This is a chance to delight, surprise, and challenge viewers by slowing them down and drawing them in. Let your small work make a big impression.
