The Museum of Printing is almost as easy to get to in person as it is through our web site. Our address is 15 Thornton Ave, Haverhill, MA.

From Boston via Route 93 in New Hampshire
From Boston take Route 93 North to Route 495 North. Then follow the directions From the West on Route 495 below.

From New Hampshire via Route 93
Take route 93 South, about 2 miles after entering Massachusetts take Route 495 North. Then follow the directions for From the West on route 495, towards Haverhill below.

From the West on Route 495, towards Haverhill
Take Route 495 North towards Haverhill, MA or New Hampshire. Depending upon where you are the signs read differently. Take Exit 107, (River Street) at the top of the ramp turn left passing over 495. Thornton Avenue is the first road on your left after crossing 495. It looks like you are entering a residential area, you are. The museum is on your left about 100 yards up the hill.

From the East on Route 495, towards Haverhill
On Route 495 heading South towards Haverhill take exit 107/108. The first exit is 107, do not turn there, continue about ¾ mile to exit 108. At the top of the ramp stay to the left. Turn left onto River Street, in 200 feet turn right onto Thornton Ave. If it looks like you are entering a residential area, you are. The museum is on your left about 100 yards up the hill.

From downtown Haverhill
Take River Street north. Travel a little less than 2 miles from the train station. You will cross route 495. After crossing 495 take an immediate left onto Thornton Ave. It looks like you are entering a residential area, you are. The museum is on your left about 100 yards up the hill.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
There are two train lines to Haverhill, The MBTA Haverhill line and the Amtrak Downeaster. The train station is located on the western end of the downtown area, 2.2 miles from the museum.

The MBTA Haverhill line runs between Boston’s North Station and Haverhill, check schedule here.

The Downeaster travels through Haverhill between Boston’s North Station and Brunswick, ME several times a day. Check schedule here.

LAWRENCE AIRPORT
Lawrence Airport is a controlled airfield with IFR approaches. It is about four miles southwest of the museum at: N42″ 43.03; W071″ 07.40. To drive to the Museum exit the airport and turn right. In about 1 mile take Route 495 north towards Haverhill. As you merge you will be under the 495 bridge, transition to the left lane and bear left towards Haverhill and New Hampshire. In about 4 miles take Exit 49 (River Street). At the top of the ramp turn. Thornton Avenue is the first road on your left after crossing over 495. It looks like you are entering a residential area, you are. The museum is on your left about 200 yards up the hill.
